Dr. Amanda Thornton Morken

Dr. Amanda Thornton Morken grew up in St. Charles, IL.  She was attending University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for her undergraduate degree, and was coming home on breaks from school while doing Invisalign treatment with Geneva Family Dental. Not too long after graduating and working in the corporate world, Amanda came to Dr. Jentz-Cote and said she was unhappy in her career choice and saw how passionate Dr. Jentz-Cote was about dentistry and that she wanted a career that made her feel that same way. She had never planned on a career in the medical field, but always enjoyed coming to Geneva Family Dental and always asked so many wonderful questions about dentistry. Dr. Jentz-Cote hired her as an assistant in 2010 with the hope of mentoring and inspiring her to try dentistry as a career. Spending time immersed in dentistry prompted her to apply to dental school and she chose to attend the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and graduated from there in 2015.

Before joining Geneva Family Dental Dr. Amanda worked as an associate at the Dental Group of Rockford.  She greatly missed her hometown and her family and jumped at the opportunity to become a part of the office that inspired her to get into dentistry in the first place. Dr. Amanda is married to her high school sweetheart Jeff and they have a son, Connor, and daughter, Cora, along with two rescue dogs. She loves all outdoor activities like hiking, kayaking and water skiing and is passionate about supporting autism awareness and animal welfare groups. She is super excited to be working with her mentor and being back in the Tri-Cities. Patients adore her warm personality, her calming smile, and her passion for dentistry.
