Dr. Amanda Thornton Morken

Dr. Amanda Thornton Morken has been a valued member of the Geneva Family Dental team for over six years, and her connection to the practice spans well beyond her time as a dentist. She grew up in St. Charles, Illinois, and first became familiar with Geneva Family Dental while receiving Invisalign treatment there during school breaks while completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign. Those early experiences sparked her curiosity about dentistry, and she was known for asking thoughtful questions and taking a genuine interest in the field.

After graduating, Amanda spent time working in the corporate world but quickly realized she was unfulfilled in her career. Inspired by Dr. Jentz-Cote’s passion for dentistry and the culture at Geneva Family Dental, she knew she wanted a career that felt meaningful and patient-centered. In 2010, she joined the Geneva Family Dental team as a dental assistant, where Dr. Jentz-Cote mentored and encouraged her to pursue dentistry as a profession. Her time immersed in the practice confirmed her passion, leading her to apply to dental school. She went on to attend the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 2015.

Before returning to Geneva Family Dental as a dentist, Dr. Amanda worked as an associate at the Dental Group of Rockford. However, she deeply missed her hometown, her family, and the practice that inspired her to pursue dentistry in the first place. She was thrilled to come back and work alongside her mentor while caring for patients in the Tri-Cities community.

Dr. Amanda is married to her high school sweetheart, Jeff, and they have two children, Connor and Cora, along with two rescue dogs. Outside of the office, she enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and water skiing. She is also passionate about supporting autism awareness and animal welfare organizations. Patients adore her warm personality, calming smile, and genuine passion for dentistry.
